WE ARE CONTINUING TO BUILD the new 42-bed Chronic Care Medical Unit for the children of our orphanage – Hogares Luz y Vida in Bogota, Colombia! We began with a need for $550,000.00, and during the past four years - through your gracious donations - we were able to complete Phases 1, 2, and 3 – internal and external structures, plumbing and electrical systems, and walls and flooring. Local businesses in Bogota have provided gifts in kind such as flooring and finish work. We now need to purchase items such as medical equipment, hospital beds and bedroom furnishings, medical supplies and hire medical and support staff.
This year, the Killarney Sports and Leisure Center has once again partnered with us toward this lifesaving project. Read below to learn more about how you can be involved, near or far!

How our Multi-Fitness Session will work:
We have 1 spin bike, 1 rowing machine, 1 treadmill, and a swimming pool where which participants will attempt to accrue kilometers to add toward our goal of 10,000. We welcome participants to join us for a session on the spin bike, rowing machine, treadmill, or pool to cheer others on.
We look forward to a fun-filled day of activities including:
Raffle – Vouchers from local vendors for meals, donations from boutiques and shops, toys, games, culinary items and glassware, and recreational interests.
Silent Auction – Swim lessons at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Center; golf for 4 persons in the Ring of Kerry Golf Club in Kenmare, County Kerry; and 3 vouchers for two-night stays at a coastal County Kerry Bed & Breakfast venue.
Can't make it in person?
You can enjoy a spin, row, run or swim in your own home, neighborhood, gym, or pool, and let us know your total mileage which we will add to our grand total. We are striving for 10,000 kilometers, which we will add to our monetary donations and raffle proceeds. A matching donor will financially double our total!
